**_When you focus on the Goal, you lose the Problem and_** **_When you focus on the Problem, you lose the Goal._** The biggest challenge is that people want to achieve a goal, but at the same time they start identifying the problems associated with attaining the goal. You need to understand that you cannot focus on goal and problem simultaneously. You can either focus on the Problem or on the Goal. **Every negative incident has a positive intent.** One has to find at least three positive messages in every negative incident. ### **Incident Has No Meaning** **_An incident has no meaning, you give meaning to the incident._** You can interpret the incident as negative, or positive. To find a positive message in a negative incident, it is important to understand three fundamental things– 1. Don’t See Things Worse Than They Are. 2. Try to See Things as They Are. 3. Try to See Things Better Than They Are. ### **For Example:** 4. On the death of father, one son says that my life has come to an end, while the other son says that I will be more responsible now. 5. On losing a big client, one entrepreneur says that my business is finished, while the other says that now I will take my business to the next level. The event has no meaning; how we interpret the event will give meaning to it.  So, interpretation is more powerful than the event. ### **Find Positive Message in Every Negative Incident** When your interpretation is right and positive, your actionables will also be positive and right. 6. Identify an incident that is causing trouble for you. 7. Identify 3 positive messages in every negative incident. ### **How to Handle Negative Incidents** To handle negative incidents, both mental and physical change is required. 8. Identity 3 learning from a negative incident. 9. Identify 3 action plans to deal with a negative incident. Remember, **no framework will get you success until you “practice it religiously”**. Whether you are an entrepreneur or an organisational leader, if you will practice the framework you will certainly see a “change in your everyday life”.
